GRÜNHEIDE (ANP/DPA) - Tesla wil de productie in zijn grote fabriek in het Duitse Grünheide bij Berlijn dit jaar opvoeren. Daarnaast wil de elektrische autofabrikant 3500 nieuwe medewerkers aannemen en moet de fabriek nieuwe markten gaan bedienen. Tesla ziet de vraag naar zijn elektrische auto's aantrekken en de winstcijfers verbeteren, meldt het bedrijf in het jaarverslag van de Duitse productieafdeling van het bedrijf.

In het jaarverslag staat dat Tesla voor dit jaar een aanzienlijke stijging van het productievolume voorziet vergeleken met vorig jaar. De elektrische autofabrikant heeft de verkopen de laatste tijd weten op te krikken. Vorig jaar hadden die onder meer last van kritiek op topman Elon Musk vanwege zijn bezuinigingen voor de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump en het maken van een handgebaar dat op de nazigroet leek.

De Gigafactory in Grünheide is de enige productielocatie van Tesla in Europa. In de fabriek wordt momenteel zijn Model Y geproduceerd.

Ja jongens is het nou oorlog of valt dit in principe allemaal nog binnen het principeakkoord? Gisteren meldde CENTCOM dat er op 17 juli in Jordanië door Iraanse ballistische raketten en/of drones twee Amerikaanse militairen gedood zijn, en er nog altijd een vermist is. Bovenstaande video toont beeld van die aanval in Jordanië, en zeer wel mogelijk zelfs de explosie waarbij de militairen omkwamen. Ook meldt de Wall Street Journal dat er bij diezelfde aanval een geparkeerd onbemand, en bemand vliegtuig zouden zijn geraakt.

Dat liet Trump natuurlijk niet over z'n kant gaan en lanceerde voor de achtste nacht op rij een aanvalsgolf tegen Iraanse doelwitten. CENTCOM schreef drie uur geleden over de VERGELDING, ook specifiek tegen de eenheden achter deze aanval:

"Op 18 juli om 23.30 uur (Eastern Time) voerde U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in opdracht van de opperbevelhebber opnieuw een reeks aanvallen uit op Iran. Tijdens deze achtste opeenvolgende nacht van Amerikaanse aanvallen troffen strijdkrachten van CENTCOM met succes Iraanse militaire installaties voor kustbewaking en luchtverdediging, maritieme capaciteiten en opslaglocaties voor raketten en drones, om zo de Iraanse militaire slagkracht verder te verzwakken. Daarnaast raakten Amerikaanse strijdkrachten eenheden van de Islamitische Revolutionaire Garde die op 17 juli aanvallen hadden uitgevoerd op Amerikaanse militairen in Jordanië."

Spain’s brilliance isn’t just about Rodri or Lamine Yamal – it’s all about the collective culture developed over many years

We talk about individuals too much in English football. Football is about the collective. Spain’s semi-final dominance over France was not built on individual brilliance but on a shared understanding of space, timing and their core principles. That is why they are the most exceptional team in the world and why I think they will win the World Cup on Sunday.

It is not about Rodri, Lamine Yamal or Pedri. It’s about the whole midfield, the collective. Spain will find positional and numerical superiority in whichever way they can, because doing so has been deeply ingrained from very early ages and they are the masters of time and space on a football pitch. Against France they were rewarded for that culture by generating so many moments of four-versus-two numerical superiority in key spaces.

I have just come back from a much-anticipated girls’ holiday to Puglia, and to say that it fulfilled expectations would be an understatement. We swam, we napped, we reminisced, we ate little bits of crudo alongside lovely sips of fiano, we danced around the table of the Airbnb while singing along to Sarà perché ti amo. Most of all, we laughed, sometimes until our stomachs hurt and our faces were wet with tears.

What a joy the girls’ trip is (despite our ages, “women” doesn’t feel right here somehow). Maybe that’s because at times during the holiday I was transported back to when we were indeed “girls” and studying together in Italy (although this time with far less street harassment – a realisation that prompted mixed feelings until a belated “Che bellissime!” saved the day).

He was especially transfixed by the miniature world beneath his feet – dung beetles rolling mounds of cattle dung; safari ants’ migrations across the plains; male butterflies that suck salt and other nutrients from the mud to produce “nuptial gifts” during mating; and bees pollinating the critically endangered African violet alongside crops in a farmer’s field.
