Bryson DeChambeau’s ongoing participation in the Open Championship is in doubt after extraordinary scenes at the conclusion of the 32-year-old’s second round at Royal Birkdale.
DeChambeau was handed a two-stroke penalty for improving the line of his swing in thick rough, and the scenario prompted a furious response from the American. The sanction shifted him out of second place and an initial position of one stroke behind the leader, Lucas Herbert.

Its release Thursday dazzled developers, jolted Silicon Valley and reset the AI race overnight. Kimi immediately vaulted into the top tier of global AI, beating Anthropic's Fable 5 and OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol in front-end coding tests by AI evaluator Arena.
In Arenas broader text ranking, Kimi finished ahead of Anthropics Opus 4.8 -- the company's flagship model until Fable 5 arrived in June -- while costing 40% less. Unlike the premium U.S. models its challenging, Moonshot plans to release Kimi as an open-weight model on July 27 -- allowing companies and governments to customize and run it on their own systems.

CARACAS (ANP/BLOOMBERG) - Meer dan 5000 mensen zijn omgekomen bij de aardbevingen die Venezuela eind juni troffen. Dat heeft parlementsvoorzitter Jorge Rodríguez vrijdag bekendgemaakt.
Uit de nieuwste cijfers blijkt dat het dodental is gestegen tot 5069. Zeker driehonderd van de slachtoffers zijn nog niet geïdentificeerd. Meer dan 6400 mensen zijn levend onder het puin vandaan gehaald. Eerder was al bekendgemaakt dat 16.740 personen gewond zijn geraakt door de bevingen. Het is onduidelijk hoeveel mensen nog vermist worden.
De twee aardbevingen, met een kracht van 7.2 en 7.5, waren een van de dodelijkste natuurrampen in Latijns-Amerika in jaren. Ook zijn duizenden mensen dakloos geraakt.
