Apple claims OpenAI recruited key engineers, including former Apple executives Tang Tan and Chang Liu, and benefited from proprietary designs, manufacturing processes, and other trade secrets. Tan is OpenAI's Chief Hardware Officer and a 24-year Apple veteran who led product design, while Liu is on the hardware team at OpenAI after working as a senior system electrical engineer at Apple.

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS (ANP) - Max Verstappen was "best tevreden" na de eerste dag met trainingen voor de Grote Prijs van België. De 28-jarige Nederlander was de snelste in de eerste training en zette de derde tijd neer in de tweede training, al moest hij toen wel bijna een halve seconde toegeven op de Italiaanse Mercedescoureur Kimi Antonelli.
"Het ging best goed", keek Verstappen terug op beide trainingen. "We hadden geen grote problemen en de balans van de auto was meteen goed. Daarna was het vooral finetunen en hopelijk vinden we nog wat meer snelheid."
Verstappen had een dag eerder gezegd dat het een lastig circuit is in Spa-Francorchamps, omdat de Red Bull moeite heeft met het energiemanagement. "We zijn vergeleken met onze concurrenten langzamer op het rechte stuk, maar de balans was best oké", zei Verstappen, die wel wees op het grote gat met Antonelli.
CUPERTINO (ANP/BLOOMBERG) - Apple praat met het Amerikaanse ministerie van Justitie over het schikken van een rechtszaak uit 2024 waarin het techbedrijf wordt beschuldigd van het overtreden van de mededingingswetgeving. Dat zeggen ingewijden tegen persbureau Bloomberg.
De Amerikaanse overheid klaagde Apple aan toen Joe Biden nog president was. De aanklacht hoorde bij een reeks rechtszaken die de macht van grote technologiebedrijven moest indammen. In de aanklacht stelt het ministerie dat Apple concurrenten, softwareontwikkelaars en consumenten heeft benadeeld met zijn vermeende gedrag.
De belangrijkste verwijten draaien om het blokkeren van zogenoemde superapps door Apple. Superapps zijn apps waarin veel verschillende diensten samenkomen, zoals chatten, betalen en winkelen. Je hoeft dan niet voor elke handeling een aparte app te openen. Ook zou het bedrijf onder meer externe berichtendiensten en cloud-streamingapps ontmoedigen en de concurrentie op de smartwatchmarkt belemmeren.
De gesprekken bevinden zich volgens de bronnen in een vroeg stadium, maar zouden al wel in volle gang zijn.
