DEN HAAG (ANP) - "We gaan nu nog niet kiezen voor een scenario", zegt staatssecretaris Jo-Annes de Bat over de mogelijkheden die er zijn voor de uitbreiding van industrie en energie rondom Moerdijk. In een bestuurlijk overleg volgende week wil hij "onderbouwen" waarom het recent toegevoegde scenario waarin het dorp behouden kan blijven, realistisch is. "Zodanig dat zij er ook vertrouwen in hebben, want we hebben de gemeente cruciaal hard nodig," zegt de CDA-bewindsman die verantwoordelijk is voor de energietransitie.

In die optie is minder ruimte nodig dan in twee andere schetsen van het gebied. Moerdijkers gaven woensdag nog aan dat ze dat scenario als ongeloofwaardig zien. De Tweede Kamer was ook verbaasd dat die optie ineens op tafel lag en zag dat het vooral voor meer onzekerheid bij inwoners zorgt.

De Tweede Kamer roept op tot duidelijkheid, die kan De Bat voorlopig niet geven. "We weten wat we moeten doen, dat is heel zorgvuldig stappen zetten. Zodat de onzekerheid bij een besluitvormingsmoment later ook echt weg is."

DEN HAAG (ANP) - Staatssecretaris Judith Tielen (Onderwijs en Emancipatie) wil van de onderwijsinspectie horen hoe het kan dat de basisschool van Forum voor Democratie goedkeuring heeft gekregen. Woensdag werd bekend dat de FVD-school in augustus opengaat met financiering vanuit het Rijk.

Tweede Kamerlid Marjolein Moorman (PRO) uitte donderdag tijdens een debat haar zorgen over de school. FVD-oprichter Thierry Baudet lichtte toe dat er aparte leertrajecten komen voor jongens en meisjes, vanwege "biologische verschillen tussen de seksen". Moorman vroeg zich af hoe dat rijmt met de eisen voor burgerschapsonderwijs. "Dat is een goede vraag en die vraag heb ik ook", zei Tielen.

De VVD-bewindsvrouw zei dat in de wet staat dat er gelijkwaardige voorzieningen voor jongens en meisjes moeten zijn. Zij benadrukte dat de inspectie, die nieuwe scholen na een jaar bezoekt, een belangrijke toezichthoudende taak heeft. "Maar ik denk dat we met zijn allen, maar dat geldt voor elke nieuwe school, daar heel scherp op moeten zijn."

The boy-men of Jackass, a three-season MTV comedy-stunt show turned periodic and beloved film series, have shown a willingness to engage in all manner of rectal probing in the name of shock laughs. (Perhaps most famously, Ryan Dunn, who died in 2011, inserted a toy car into himself before going in for an X-ray.) So it’s poignant to see the ageing crew take this to a natural next step in Jackass: Best and Last, where raspy-voiced fixture Steve-O submits to a prostate exam – performed by a wisecracking robot, of course. Later, the gang ingests the drug used to flush out digestive systems before a colonoscopy, and then attempts to play Twister with a grim, scatological timebomb looming. Cameraman Lance Bangs, as always, attempts to contain his retching.

It would be a stretch to describe this fifth and allegedly final Jackass film as reflective about the ageing process, at least any more than its predecessors. Even its sense of finality has been hinted at before: way back in 2010’s Jackass 3-D, Weezer’s nostalgic song Memories blasted over end-credits footage of the guys throughout the years, and 2022’s Jackass Forever had a similarly valedictory tone. In Best and Last, someone goes so far as to tease ringleader Johnny Knoxville about whether the audience can believe him about this being the last movie, given that he’s said that sort of thing before.
