In Marrum (gemeente Noardeast-Fryslân, provincie Friesland) is vogelgriep vastgesteld op een vleeskuikenbedrijf. Om verspreiding van het virus te voorkomen, heeft het ministerie van Landbouw, Visserij, Voedselzekerheid en Natuur besloten om de circa 80.000 dieren op de locatie te laten ruimen door de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA).
