Steeds meer mensen kiezen voor een natuurtuin, een tuin waarin ze de natuur zoveel mogelijk haar gang laten gaan. Natuurlijk wel met de nodige restricties, het moet geen wildernis worden waar je niet meer doorheen komt. Je kunt ook een deel van je tuin aanwijzen als natuurtuin. In dit deel mag (bijna) alles groeien, en soms leidt dat tot verrassende verschijningen van planten waar je wellicht nog niet eerder van had gehoord.

Orde in de chaos

Als je tuin toch nog een beetje overzichtelijk wilt houden, dan kun je een gazon aanleggen met nette borders waar je bloembollen, eenjarige plantjes of vaste planten in zet. Als je een gazon hebt dan is het belangrijk om dit goed te onderhouden. Het gras maai je 1 tot 2 keer per jaar. Daarnaast kun je een verticuteermachine gebruiken om mos en dood materiaal te verwijderen. Als je een groot gazon hebt dan is een maairobot een idee. Die maait het gras op een moment dat je zelf kunt instellen. Als de accu leeg raakt of als het gaat regenen, keert de robot automatisch terug naar zijn laadstation. Je kunt voor het verticuteren de Stihl benzine verticuteermachine RL 540 gebruiken. Hiermee houd je je gazon in uitstekende conditie.

Is kunstgras een goed idee?

Echte tuinliefhebbers en hoveniers gruwelen er meestal van. Maar toch is kunstgras wel het overwegen waard als je een mooi gazon wilt maar je hebt geen zin in of tijd voor het onderhoud. Kunstgras is er in verschillende vormen. Je kunt van je gazon een leuk speelveld maken voor de kinderen of een plek waar je lekker in de zon kunt liggen. Maar je kunt ook kiezen voor lang siergras dat van afstand nauwelijks van echt is te onderscheiden. En je kunt een gazon aanleggen in een andere kleur dan groen. Als je liever een blauw, paars of oranje grasveld hebt, dan kan dat ook. Kunstgras wordt geleverd op rollen die je gemakkelijk op maat kunt knippen. Je zet de matten vast met speciale haken zodat ze niet gaan omkrullen. Kunstgras kan enkele jaren dienstdoen voordat je het moer vervangen.

Risico’s van een natuurtuin

Als je je tuin of een deel ervan als natuurtuin wilt inrichten, dan is het belangrijk om erop te letten wat er in je tuin groeit. Sommige planten groeien zo hard dat ze andere planten overwoekeren. Voordat je het weet staat je hele tuin ermee vol. Een berucht voorbeeld daarvan is de Japanse Duizendknoop. Deze plant is zo sterk dat hij door beton en hout heen kan groeien. Bovendien groeit hij ook heel hard. De plant is bijna niet uit te roeien. Op sommige plekken is het verboden om hem te planten, en veel tuincentra verkopen hem niet vanwege het feit dat hij als ongewenst wordt beschouwd. Maar feit is dat je insecten een groot plezier doet met een natuurlijke tuin, zeker als er ook bloeiende planten in staan waar de diertjes honing en stuifmeel kunnen verzamelen. Andere dieren voeden zich met de sappen uit de bladeren en stengels. En vogels voeden zich weer met de insecten. Op die manier draag je dus bij aan de biodiversiteit en de voedselketen.

There’s a dissociation from the body – a distancing of his emotions. And because it comes from a sexually transmitted disease, his sexuality – a strong life force – is stunted too. So his mission is to speak and to ejaculate.” Urgently in the case of the latter: Nino must freeze his sperm as his treatment will make him infertile. Don’t bother using them to mop up spilled liquid, as they are less likely to soak up the spillage than protect it with an impermeable barrier. Never make the mistake of blowing your nose in them when you have a cold or a hay fever attack: they’ll just spread the mess to your hands. Their papery texture – originally meant to keep your hands clean while picking up oily snacks – has somehow endured despite their most common purpose being to clean your fingers and lips. For this, they are far from effective, and you end up flying through half a dozen for every croqueta.
