PUTTEN (ANP) - Bij een tankstation langs de A28 bij Putten in Gelderland heeft een confrontatie tussen tientallen voetbalsupporters plaatsgevonden. Daarbij is een auto in brand gestoken, meldt een woordvoerder van de politie Oost-Nederland.

Op X wordt gesuggereerd dat het zou gaan om een confrontatie tussen supporters van Ajax en Feyenoord. Dat kan de woordvoerder niet bevestigen. De politie is nog bezig met uitzoeken wat er precies is gebeurd.

Feyenoord is om 14.30 uur gestart met een uitwedstrijd tegen PEC Zwolle, en Ajax op hetzelfde moment met een wedstrijd in en tegen Heerenveen.

PARIJS (ANP/AFP) - In Frankrijk heeft zich "een tiental" nieuwe vermoedelijke slachtoffers van de Amerikaanse zedendelinquent Jeffrey Epstein gemeld, zegt een officier van justitie in Parijs. Het parket opende een onderzoek naar mensenhandel naar aanleiding van de documenten die de Amerikaanse overheid vrijgaf over Epstein, die in 2019 dood werd gevonden in zijn cel.

In totaal zouden er nu rond de twintig mogelijke slachtoffers in beeld zijn. Ongeveer de helft van hen was al langer in beeld als slachtoffer van een voormalige modellenscout of een directeur van een modellenbureau die in verband worden gebracht met Epstein. Sommige slachtoffers zouden in het buitenland verblijven.

Het doel van het onderzoek is vooral om mensen op het spoor te komen die slachtoffers hebben gemaakt in Frankrijk of Epstein vanuit Frankrijk hebben geholpen. Het zou dan bijvoorbeeld gaan om mensen die slachtoffers voor hem hebben geronseld.
