But with a bit of luck and logistical flexibility (and the ability to stay awake all night), Gunners supporters can still hope to match Declan Rice’s demand that 200,000 descend upon the Danube at the end of this month.

Finding would explain why type of stroke affecting about 35,000 a year in UK is not as responsive to some medication

The cause of a type of stroke that affects about 35,000 people across the UK each year has been uncovered by researchers and may explain why some medications are ineffective as treatment.

Lacunar strokes, which account for a quarter of all strokes in the UK, had been linked to the blockage of arteries in the brain by fatty deposits.

JOHANNESBURG (ANP) - De Nederlandse vrouw die op 26 april aan het hantavirus overleed is een dag eerder "korte tijd" aan boord geweest van een KLM-vliegtuig in Johannesburg. Dat meldt de vliegtuigmaatschappij, na geïnformeerd te zijn door het RIVM. "Vanwege de gezondheidstoestand van de passagier op dat moment heeft de crew besloten om de passagier niet mee te nemen op de vlucht", aldus KLM in een verklaring.

Het ging om een vlucht die op 25 april om 23.15 uur uit Johannesburg naar Amsterdam vertrok. Nadat de passagier uit het vliegtuig was, is de vlucht naar Nederland vertrokken. De GGD informeert de passagiers aan boord van deze vlucht.

Het was toeval, maar we aten, in kort tijdsbestek, twee keer bij een keten die ontstond uit een Amsterdams biefstukkenrestaurant.

Inmiddels kunnen we stellen dat veel mensen het liefst hun private politieke opvattingen terug willen zien in de Dodenherdenking.

Terwijl de meeste files woensdag in de avondspits niet langer zijn dan gebruikelijk was het even goed mis op de A4 richting Rotterdam voor het knooppunt Benelux. Een ongeluk zorgde daar op het hoogtepunt van de drukte voor anderhalf uur vertraging.
