DEN HAAG (ANP) - "We kunnen voor de Oekraïners alleen maar hopen dat gesprekken snel leiden tot duurzame vrede. Na 3,5 jaar vol onvoorstelbare verschrikkingen, dood en verwoesting snakken ze naar het einde van de oorlog." Dat schrijft de Stichting Vluchteling in een reactie op de gesprekken over Oekraïne tussen de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump, zijn Oekraïense ambtgenoot Volodymyr Zelensky en zeven Europese regeringsleiders.
Aanvallen waarbij burgers om het leven komen of ziekenhuizen het doelwit zijn, zijn aan de orde van de dag, aldus de stichting. "Bijna 13 miljoen Oekraïners verkeren in nood, 5,6 miljoen mensen zijn gevlucht. Er is een ernstig tekort aan basisbenodigdheden zoals medische zorg, onderdak en schoon drinkwater. We zien hoe humanitaire toegang tot mensen in nood wordt belemmerd." Ook zonder akkoord zou de toegang tot basisbenodigdheden volgens de stichting gegarandeerd moeten zijn.
De Stichting Vluchteling biedt in Oekraïne medische en psychologische hulp en ondersteunt meer dan honderd ziekenhuizen aan de frontlinies met medische apparatuur en medicijnen.

All 173 species of Banksia bar one, are uniquely Australian. The genus is a member of the Proteaceae family and was first collected at Sydney in 1770 by Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander. Fossils found have shown that these incredible plants have been on earth for 59 million years.
Inflorescences on B. ericifolia can grow to 30cm in length. This species is endemic to this area here on the east coast.
This may look like a delicate beauty - but it is in fact rather like touching a wire brush. These plants, (even their inflorescences), are tough as old boots.
Flowering in autumn and winter. Like other banksias, B. ericifolia plays host to a wide variety of pollinators and is a vital source of nectar in autumn, when other flowers become scarce.
Can grow to 6 m.
