AMSTERDAM (ANP) - Boekingssite Booking.com laat weten dat "onbevoegde derden" toegang hebben gekregen tot boekingsinformatie van klanten. Sommige klanten van Booking.com ontvingen zondag een mail over een mogelijk gegevenslek. Het bedrijf bevestigt zondagavond dat er dus gegevens zijn ingezien.
Volgens het bedrijf is het probleem "inmiddels onder controle" en zijn "de betrokken gasten" geïnformeerd.
In de mail staat dat Booking.com "onlangs verdachte activiteiten" heeft opgemerkt, "die van invloed zijn op een aantal reserveringen". Het ANP zag de mail in. Ook staat in het bericht dat uit een onderzoek naar het mogelijke lek blijkt dat onbevoegden "boekingsdetails, naam of namen, e-mailadressen en fysieke adressen" kunnen hebben ingezien, evenals "telefoonnummers die aan de boeking zijn gekoppeld en alle overige informatie die je mogelijk met de accommodatie hebt gedeeld".
Wanneer de hack was en hoeveel mensen mogelijk zijn getroffen, staat niet in de mail en Booking.com reageert ook niet op vragen hierover.
BEIROET (ANP/AFP) - De interim-vredesmacht van de Verenigde Naties in Libanon (UNIFIL) heeft verklaard dat een Israëlische tank zondag UNIFIL-voertuigen heeft geramd in het zuiden van het land, waar Israël sinds vorige maand aanvallen uitvoert tegen Hezbollah. Daarbij vallen veel burgerslachtoffers.
"Bij twee gelegenheden vandaag hebben soldaten van de Israëlische strijdkrachten (IDF) UNIFIL-voertuigen geramd met een Merkava-tank. In een geval ontstond daarbij aanzienlijke schade," aldus de verklaring. Daarin staat ook dat de Israëlische soldaten een weg hadden geblokkeerd in Bayada, in Zuid-Libanon, "die wordt gebruikt om toegang te krijgen tot UNIFIL-posities".
En: "In de afgelopen week hebben Israëlische soldaten 'waarschuwingsschoten' gelost in het gebied, waarbij duidelijk herkenbare UNIFIL-voertuigen werden geraakt en beschadigd. In één geval kwam een 'waarschuwingsschot' op slechts een meter afstand terecht van een vredessoldaat die zijn voertuig had verlaten."
DEN HAAG (ANP) - De verkiezingsoverwinning van Péter Magyar "markeert een nieuwe stap voor Hongarije en de EU, met hoop op herstel van de democratie, rechtsstaat en Europese samenwerking", schrijft premier Rob Jetten op X. Hij feliciteert de oppositieleider, die volgens eerste tellingen van het Kiesbureau premier Viktor Orbán ruimschoots verslaat.
"Het Hongaarse volk heeft gesproken", aldus de D66'er over deze "historische verkiezingsoverwinning".
Ook vicepremier en VVD-leider Dilan Yeşilgöz reageert verheugd. "De uitkomst van de verkiezingen in Hongarije luidt een nieuw hoofdstuk in, voor het land zelf en voor Europa als geheel. Met grote hoop op hernieuwde kansen voor een stabiele democratie en een sterke rechtsstaat", schrijft ze op X.
DEN HAAG (ANP) - Kamerleden uit coalitiepartijen VVD en CDA hebben verheugd gereageerd op het bericht dat de Hongaarse oppositieleider Péter Magyar de verkiezingsoverwinning heeft geclaimd. Eerste tellingen van het Kiesbureau wijzen erop dat hij de zittende premier Viktor Orbán ruimschoots verslaat. "De Hongaren hebben luid en duidelijk gesproken!", reageert Ruben Brekelmans van de VVD op X.
"Laten we nu hopen op een Hongarije dat samenwerkt in Europa en de rechtsstaat respecteert. Dat steun aan Oekraïne niet langer blokkeert. En dat niet meer als een Trojaans paard voor Rusland fungeert", vervolgt hij.
"De Hongaarse bevolking heeft vandaag duidelijk gemaakt: het regime van Orbán moet stoppen. Deze verkiezingsuitkomst is enorm hoopvol", reageert zijn coalitiepartner Henri Bontenbal van het CDA.
Ook Tom van der Lee van GroenLinks-PvdA (binnenkort PRO) is positief: "De verkiezingswinst van Péter Magyar biedt perspectief op een meer verenigd Europa en sterkere steun voor de moedige strijd van de Oekraïners!"

Continue reading...But then Mississippi's warehouse-managing contractor implemented a new computer system that wasn't compatible with the state's delivery system (like they'd promised it would be back in 2023). And then things got even worse... "The problem, business owners allege, is that the company tore out the conveyor belts but didn't hire humans to replace them."
In February a state Revenue Department commissioner told lawmakers the state was hiring temporary replacement workers, but in the five weeks through March 29th they'd only managed to reduce "pending" orders by 21.7%, from 218,851 down to 171,190, according to stats from Mississippi Today. At least four Mississippi businesses are now suing the warehouse operator "claiming breach of contract and harm to their business."
So what's it like in a state suddenly running dry? The Washington Post reports:

At least five liquor shops have closed, and if cheap pints don't hit the corner stores soon, many of them will, too...
[A]s both the state and its businesses lose millions in revenue, many say they see no real end to the crisis. Nearly 174,000 cases of alcohol are sitting in a warehouse north of Jackson, but no one seems to know how to get them out the door... Even the shops that have received deliveries say they often get the wrong thing — Jell-O shots, for instance, that should have been small-batch Norwegian gin...
At Willie the one-eyed skeleton's liquor store they'd previously made 300 to 400 sales a day, according to the article, but last week had 34 customers. And Mississippi is one of 17 U.S. states requiring liquor stores to buy their liquor from distribution centers controlled by the state's Department of Revenue...
Mississippi Today points out that while some want the state to finally privatize liquor distribution, "The state collects around $120 million a year in taxes on alcohol." Plus the state has already authorized "borrowing $95 million to construct a new warehouse, set to begin operations in 2027..."

Demonstrators shouted "Eat a dick!" and "Fuck ICE!" as they pelted the vehicles with dildos.
Activist Russell Ellis, who posted video of the demonstration on Instagram, said the protesters "showed real balls." "Dildos coming your way! Dildos! Dildos!" Ellis barked as the toys rained down on vehicles, landing with rubbery thwunks. "It's raining dicks!" [...]
Later in the afternoon, police declared the protest an unlawful assembly before rushing in to arrest 54 demonstrators.
"Declared an unlawful assembly" is one of those phrases like "officer-involved shooting" that our lickspittle copagandist media like to trot out un-challenged and un-examined.
There are no unlawful assemblies. Fuck you.
Protesters Wield Sex Toys Outside ICE Facility In Broadview:
The protests were held Saturday outside immigration facilities in Broadview, Portland and Los Angeles, as well as the ICE headquarters in Washington, D.C., with dildos donated by a sex shop that went out of business in Minneapolis.
"The logistics of the last couple of weeks have been insane," said Abe, an organizer of the local protest who declined to give their last name. "[We've] been moving dicks around all these states and we have more than 350 [dildos here at Broadview today] with more than 6,000 available nationally."
I have seen articles about a similar protest in Los Angeles, but the contemptibly cowardly LA media have seemingly all blurred out the dildos in their photo coverage. You call this journalism???
