PARIJS (ANP/AFP) - Frankrijk is niet onder druk gezet bij het besluit om Zuid-Afrika niet uit te nodigen voor een bijeenkomst van de G7 in juni, heeft buitenlandminister Jean-Noël Barrot benadrukt in de marge van een overleg van de G7. De Zuid-Afrikaanse president Cyril Ramaphosa zei eerder op donderdag dat zijn uitnodiging was ingetrokken, volgens hem onder druk van de VS.

Volgens Ramaphosa wilden de VS de top boycotten als Zuid-Afrika zou worden uitgenodigd. Dat het land er niet bij is, komt volgens Barrot doordat de top een andere kant opgaat, en er meer gefocust wordt op "geo-economische" vraagstukken. Onder meer Kenia is wel uitgenodigd.

De spanningen tussen de VS en Zuid-Afrika zijn opgelopen sinds de terugkeer van Donald Trump in het Witte Huis. Zo stelt Trump dat er een genocide plaatsvindt op witte Zuid-Afrikanen. Ook heeft Zuid-Afrika een zaak aangespannen tegen Israël bij het Internationaal Gerechtshof.

Some absolute madlad (cough Adam Rice cough) compressed the entire shareware DOOM WAD, split it into around 1,964 chunks, shoved them into Cloudflare TXT records, and wrote a PowerShell script that reassembles and runs the whole goddamn game from DNS queries alone. Nothing touches disk. The DLLs are in DNS. THE FUCKING DLLS ARE IN DNS.

RFC 1035 was written in 1987. Those engineers are spinning in their graves fast enough to generate municipal power.

Bonus: this is a fully functional globally-distributed covert data exfil channel that your NGFW will never fucking see if you're not doing deep DNS inspection. Sleep well.

Rachel Reeves is being urged to raise taxes on businesses generating “windfall” profits linked to the US-Israel war on Iran to fund emergency cost of living support for UK households.

With the government under pressure to respond, a group of leading charities, campaigners and trade unions said the chancellor could raise billions by taxing “excess profits” linked to the conflict.

Wikipedia has banned the use of generative AI to write or rewrite articles, saying it "often violates several of Wikipedia's core content policies." That said, editors may still use it for translation or light refinements as long as a human carefully checks the copy for accuracy. Engadget reports: Editors can use large language models (LLMs) to refine their own writing, but only if the copy is checked for accuracy. The policy states that this is because LLMs "can go beyond what you ask of them and change the meaning of the text such that it is not supported by the sources cited." Editors can also use LLMs to assist with language translation. However, they must be fluent enough in both languages to catch errors. Once again, the information must be checked for inaccuracies.

"My genuine hope is that this can spark a broader change. Empower communities on other platforms, and see this become a grassroots movement of users deciding whether AI should be welcome in their communities, and to what extent," Wikipedia administrator Chaotic Enby wrote. The administrator also called the policy a "pushback against enshittification and the forceful push of AI by so many companies in these last few years."
