The number of plays attributed to the 16th-century playwright Thomas Kyd has more than doubled in a major new edition.

The forthcoming second volume of The Collected Works of Thomas Kyd makes a substantial case for his sole or part-authorship of plays previously attributed to William Shakespeare or Christopher Marlowe.

DEN HAAG (ANP) - De met kunstmatige intelligentie gemaakte stemhulp Keus is offline gehaald na kritiek. Dat is een goede zaak, reageert de Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten (VNG). "Dit is een gevaarlijk experiment als het om verkiezingen gaat: je beïnvloedt de kiezers en het democratisch proces."

De gemeentevereniging waarschuwde maandag al voor AI-stemhulpen voor de verkiezingen van 16 maart. Ze wees op het belang van betrouwbare informatie over lokale standpunten en deelnemende partijen. Mirjam Bikker (CU) stelde schriftelijk Kamervragen over misleidende AI-gegenereerde stemhulpen.

Maker Mark (55), volgens RTV Utrecht met de achternaam Keus, noemt zijn tool zelf een experiment. Het zou 70.766 keer zijn geraadpleegd, maar de tool bleef ook na aanpassingen vol fouten zitten. "D66 fuseerde in sommige gemeenten met GroenLinks en de VVD werd gezien als een religieuze partij. Dit stond in geen van de bronnen die ik gebruikte", schrijft de maker bij het bericht dat "de stekker eruit" is.

Firefox 148 introduces granular AI controls and a global "AI kill switch" that allows users to disable or selectively manage the browser's AI features. Phoronix reports: Among the AI features that can be toggled individually are around translations, image alt text in the Firefox PDF viewer, tab group suggestions, key points in link previews, and AI chatbot providers in the sidebar. Firefox 148 also brings Firefox for Android, support for the Trusted Types API, CSS shape() function support, Sanitizer API support, WebGPU enhancements, and a variety of other changes.
