A lobbyist who examined journalists on behalf of an influential thinktank has now been accused of recently investigating a Guardian reporter.
Tom Harper, a senior director at the US public affairs company Apco, was the author of a 58-page report examining the journalists behind a 2023 Sunday Times story about undisclosed donations to Labour Together, the thinktank that was instrumental in Keir Starmer’s Labour leadership victory.

The American crashed out early in her run during the women’s downhill competition during the opening weekend of this month’s Games. She suffered a complex tibia fracture and underwent multiple surgeries in Italy before being flown back to the US for further treatment earlier this week.

In het akkoord, dat al in december werd getekend in Moskou, spraken de partijen af dat Rusland draagbare Verba-lanceereenheden en raketten levert aan Iran.
Voor Iran is het een belangrijke stap in de wederopbouw van de luchtverdediging, die tijdens de oorlog met Israël vorig jaar bijna volledig werd verwoest, schrijft FT.
Rusland levert volgens het akkoord de komende drie jaar 500 Verba-lanceereenheden en 2500 raketten. De Verba is een van Ruslands modernste luchtverdedigingssystemen, volgens de krant. Militairen kunnen met de Verba vanaf de schouder kruisraketten en laagvliegende vliegtuigen en drones neerschieten.
De Verba speelt geen belangrijke rol in de Russische verdediging tegen Oekraïense droneaanvallen, schrijft FT. Daardoor is het voor Rusland waarschijnlijk geen probleem om deze wapens te verkopen.
