Grote wijzigingen in parcours Marathon Rotterdam: finish naar andere plek en komst 'Feyenoord-bocht'
Voor het eerst in jaren ondergaat de NN Marathon Rotterdam een aantal grote wijzigingen in het parcours. Zo wordt de finish 300 meter verplaatst vanwege de werkzaamheden op het Hofplein en krijgt De Kuip een prominente plek op de route.

David Lammy has said it is an āabsolute travestyā that details were leaked from a top secret national security meeting on the US-Israel attacks on Iran and has called for an investigation.
There were reports last weekend of cabinet splits at a national security council meeting, which is protected by the Official Secrets Act, over allowing the US to use British bases for the strikes against Iran.

A recently-revised Senate authorization bill (PDF), co-sponsored by Senate Commerce Committee Chair Ted Cruz, would extend the International Space Station's lifespan from 2030 to 2032 while pushing NASA to accelerate plans for commercial space stations to replace it. Ars Technica's Eric Berger reports: Regarding NASA's support for the development of commercial space stations, the bill mandates the following, within specified periods, of passage of the law:
- Within 60 days, publicly release the requirements for commercial space stations in low-Earth orbit
- Within 90 days, release the final "request for proposals" to solicit industry responses
- Within 180 days, enter into contracts with "two or more" commercial providers for such stations
Cruz is trying to inject urgency into NASA as several private companies -- including Axiom Space, Blue Origin, Vast, and Voyager -- are finalizing designs for space stations. All have expressed a desire for clarity from NASA on how long the space agency would like its astronauts to stay on board, the types of scientific equipment needed, and much more. These are known as "requirements" in NASA parlance.
[...] Cruz and other senators on the committee appear to share those concerns, as their legislation extends the International Space Station's lifespan from 2030 to 2032 (an extension must still be approved by international partners, including Russia). Moreover, the authorization bill states, "The Administrator shall not initiate the de-orbit of the ISS until the date on which a commercial low-Earth orbit destination has reached an initial operational capability." With this legislation, the U.S. Senate is making clear that it views a permanent human presence in low-Earth orbit as a high priority. This version of the authorization legislation must still be passed by the full Senate and work its way through the House of Representatives.

Prosecutors said the man gathered information for Ukraine about the location of an air defense system in southern Russia.
BOEDAPEST (ANP/RTR) - De Hongaarse premier Viktor OrbĆ”n heeft tijdens de slepende ruzie over de aanvoer van olie via OekraĆÆne gezegd dat hij belangrijke goederen die naar OekraĆÆne gaan, tegenhoudt. Hij zei in een gesprek met de publieke omroep dat hij de goederen tegenhoudt zolang OekraĆÆne de aanvoer van Russische olie via de Droezjba-oliepijpleiding blokkeert.
OekraĆÆne zegt dat de pijpleiding als gevolg van een Russische aanval zwaar is beschadigd. De Droezjba-pijpleiding is volgens de OekraĆÆense president Volodymyr Zelensky mogelijk nog vier tot zes weken buiten bedrijf voor de noodzakelijke reparaties. OrbĆ”n meent dat Zelensky hem met het stilleggen van de olieaanvoer probeert te chanteren.
Hongarije blokkeert in de Europese Unie de goedkeuring van een lening van 90 miljard euro aan Kyiv als gevolg van het conflict over de pijpleiding. Hongarije is voor zijn energie aangewezen op veel olie uit Rusland, net als Slowakije dat ook protesteert tegen het uitvallen van de aanvoer.
BEIROET (ANP/AFP) - Het Israƫlische leger zegt in de nacht van donderdag op vrijdag "een grootschalige reeks aanvallen" te hebben uitgevoerd op Beiroet. Bij de nachtelijke aanvallen werden onder meer een commandocentrum en een dronedepot in de zuidelijke buitenwijken van de Libanese hoofdstad getroffen.
Volgens het leger werden 26 aanvallen uitgevoerd op de buitenwijk Dahiyeh. Die volgden op een evacuatiebevel van de Israƫlische strijdkrachten voor het gebied waar honderdduizenden mensen wonen. In een verklaring stelt het leger dat de getroffen locaties door de sjiitische beweging Hezbollah werden gebruikt voor aanvallen op Israƫl.
Libanon raakte maandag betrokken bij de oorlog toen het door Iran gesteunde Hezbollah Israƫl aanviel om de moord op de Iraanse opperleider ayatollah Ali Khamenei te wreken. Het Libanese ministerie van Volksgezondheid meldde donderdag dat door Israƫlische aanvallen in het hele land tot nu toe zeker 123 doden en 683 gewonden zijn gevallen.
