VOORBURG (ANP) - Brancheorganisatie van tankstations Drive wil dat de overheid de accijnskorting op brandstof weer verhoogt of de btw verlaagt vanwege de flink gestegen prijzen aan de pomp. "Voor Nederlanders wordt tanken anders onbetaalbaar", zegt Drive-voorzitter Martin van Eijk.
Door de oorlog in het Midden-Oosten zijn de benzine- en dieselprijzen deze week fors omhooggegaan. Volgens consumentencollectief UnitedConsumers ligt de gemiddelde adviesprijs voor een liter Euro95 vrijdag op 2,369 euro en kost diesel 2,375 euro per liter. Doorgaans worden deze prijzen echter alleen langs snelwegen gevraagd.
Na het begin van de oorlog in Oekraïne in 2022 werd de accijns tijdelijk verlaagd. In 2026 geldt dit nog steeds, maar zijn de tarieven wel iets verhoogd. Drive wil dat de overheid snel ingrijpt met maatregelen om tanken minder duur te maken. "Er moet iets gebeuren. Het wordt zo langzamerhand onbetaalbaar, terwijl veel Nederlanders afhankelijk zijn van hun auto voor werk", aldus Van Eijk.
ROTTERDAM (ANP) - De gasvoorraad die vrijdag onder de 10 procent is gedoken, is geen reden voor paniek, zegt topvrouw van Gasunie Willemien Terpstra. Volgens Terpstra komt er nog voldoende gas binnen en bovendien is de winter bijna ten einde.
De topvrouw spreekt van een "seizoensopslag" die volgens plan wordt gebruikt. In de koude wintermaanden wordt meer gas verbruikt, waardoor de gasvoorraden teruglopen. Dit jaar lopen die voorraden harder terug dan in voorgaande jaren, maar Terpstra maakt zich daar geen zorgen over.
Ze wijst erop dat er gas binnenkomt via leidingen uit Noorwegen en ook wordt vloeibaar gemaakt aardgas (lng) via schepen geïmporteerd. Nederland merkt daarbij weinig van het stoppen van de productie van lng door Qatar, want dat komt niet naar Nederland.
Wel stijgen de gasprijzen door de oorlog in Iran en het stoppen van de productie in Qatar fors. Die timing is ongelukkig, want vanaf 1 april worden de gasvoorraden weer aangevuld. Dat kan nu een kostbare operatie worden.
