Woman, 47, and man, 46, held on suspicion of arson endangering life after attempted Finchley attack
A 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life after an attempted attack on a synagogue in Finchley, north London, as part of an investigation into what the Metropolitan police described as an “antisemitic hate crime”.
The force said the woman was arrested at an address in Watford just after 4.45pm on Wednesday, while the man was arrested at 7.15pm in the Watford area. Both suspects remain in police custody.

A Manhattan federal jury deliberated for four days before reaching its decision Wednesday in the closely watched case, which gave fans the equivalent of a backstage pass to a business that dominates live entertainment in the US and beyond.

Beleggers schrokken ervan dat de grote Amerikaanse ticketverkoper door een federale jury schuldig is bevonden aan illegaal monopoliegedrag. Mogelijk wordt het bedrijf hierdoor later gedwongen Ticketmaster af te stoten.
Het aandeel Live Nation koerste vrijwel de gehele handelssessie op winst, totdat het juryoordeel wereldkundig werd. Toen kelderde de koers. Uiteindelijk leverde het bedrijf meer dan 6 procent aan beurswaarde in.
Een rechter moet nog bepalen wat Live Nation nu moet doen. Het bedrijf dreigt een flinke schadevergoeding te moeten betalen. Sommige staten hebben gezegd dat ze willen dat Live Nation Ticketmaster verkoopt. Live Nation gaat waarschijnlijk in beroep.
Aandelen van concurrerende ticketverkopers stegen flink op het nieuws. StubHub Holding ging ruim 3 procent omhoog en Vivid Seats werd zelfs meer dan 9 procent meer waard.
STUTTGART (ANP/AFP) - Iga Swiatek is overtuigend begonnen aan haar gravelseizoen. De Poolse tennisster boekte in Stuttgart in de achtste finales een duidelijke zege op de Duitse Laura Siegemund: 6-2 6-3.
De als derde geplaatste Swiatek, die in de eerste ronde niet in actie hoefde te komen en een 'bye' had, brak de service van Siegemund in een eenzijdige wedstrijd vijf keer.

Dat is een flinke klap voor de grote Amerikaanse ticketverkoper, die zelfs zou kunnen leiden tot het opbreken van het concern en een gedwongen afsplitsing van Ticketmaster.
Volgens de jury is de positie van het bedrijf, dat Ticketmaster in 2010 overnam, op de markt voor ticketverkoop veel te dominant. Daardoor betaalden concertgangers eigenlijk te veel, oordeelde de jury. Bij het vonnis is becijferd dat zij om precies te zijn 1,72 dollar per ticket te veel hebben betaald.
Live Nation had onlangs juist een schikking getroffen met Amerikaanse autoriteiten om van een dreigende vervolging af te zijn. Maar 34 staten besloten het proces tegen het bedrijf voort te zetten. Na deze uitspraak moet de rechter, die de zaak behandelt, bepalen wat Live Nation nu moet doen. Sommige staten hebben gezegd dat ze willen dat Live Nation Ticketmaster verkoopt.
