Lachman, a lifespan developmental psychologist, has been studying what goes on between the ages of 40 and 60 for more than 30 years, as an investigator on the landmark Midlife in the United States study. The study has tracked thousands of adults since 1994, exploring how their lives, health and perspective changed. Before joining the project, Lachman was about to turn 40 herself. “I went through midlife as we were studying midlife,” she says.

SocialJa kijk weet je als Halo een volledig hernieuwde versie van Halo 1 uit mag brengen, dan verdient de UFC ook wel eens een verzetje, ze hebben al zo weinig! Dus: aanstaande 12 juli 13 jaar (!) jaar na dato het tweede treffen tussen (gevallen) legende Conor McGregor en controversevrije publiekslieveling Max Holloway. McGregor verloor 3 van zijn vier laatste gevechten, waarvan de laatste twee tegen Dustin Poirier, waarvan de laatste in juli 2020 met zo'n catastrofale botfractuur aan z'n onderbeen, daarna belandde hij in talloze controverses, en werd z'n gezicht steeds meer balonachtig.
Max Holloway daarentegen WON in juli 2025 (!) nog overtuigend van dezelfde Dustin Poirier waar McGregor zes jaar geleden dus tweemaal overtuigend van verloor. En in 2024 KO'de hij Justin Gaethje nog, die vorige week de wereld schokte door Ilia Topuria compleet te vernietigen.
Kortom, Holloway heeft over de hele linie de betere kaarten, en is in tegenstelling tot McGregor nog steeds een daadwerkelijk actieve vechter. En McGregor won in 2013 dan misschien wel van Holloway, maar dat was in tegenstelling tot veel gevechten van hem destijds, niet per KO maar per unanieme jurybeslissing. Kortom, we wedden het huis op Max, maar McGregor was toch de eerste vechter die het publiek écht betoverde en aan de UFC bond. Dus zodra we The Foggy Dew (onderstaand) door de arena horen blazen, zal de nostalgie niet ver achterblijven.
