Global increase in cases of predators coercing children to harm themselves or produce child sexual abuse material

Cases of predators coercing children into producing sexual photos and videos of themselves have surged globally in the past year, a cruel phenomenon known as “sadistic online exploitation”, child safety experts and law enforcement officials warn.

In cases of sadistic online exploitation, perpetrators target vulnerable teens on social media platforms and online games. These predators then compel their victims into producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), harming themselves and others, or, in extreme cases, attempting suicide.

In the US, call or text the Childhelp abuse hotline on 800-422-4453 or visit their website for more resources and to report child abuse or DM for help. For adult survivors of child abuse, help is available at ascasupport.org. In the UK, the NSPCC offers support to children on 0800 1111, and adults concerned about a child on 0808 800 5000. The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac) offers support for adult survivors on 0808 801 0331. In Australia, children, young adults, parents and teachers can contact the Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800, or Bravehearts on 1800 272 831, and adult survivors can contact Blue Knot Foundation on 1300 657 380. De oudere heren speelden in Miles Davis' "comebackband". Miller is een goede verteller, strooit met anekdotes, o.a. over de periode van vijf jaar waarin Miles geen muziek speelde. Ik dacht (naïef) aan een retraite voor inspiratie, maar volgens Wikipedia:

De naam van de band (of tour, geen idee) is "We Want Miles", naar een livealbum dat Miles uitbracht met deze heren.

Het concert was op een prachtige locatie waar we overdag al even waren, om de inwendige mens te verwennen in de enoteca con cucina ter plekke.

Je overziet de hele stad en in de verte zijn de Alpen zichtbaar. Een bijzondere plek, ook om te spelen.

We hadden poncho's mee, want er was regen en onweer voorspeld. Maar het bleef droog en prettig warm. Het optreden was erg goed. Gunn speelt de rol van Miles en doet dat (voor zover ik dat hoor) erg goed. Ik had sterk de indruk dat de heren zich prima vermaakten. Wij deden dat in ieder geval zeker. Veel jonge mensen in het publiek, en die reageerden opvallend enthousiast, leuk om te zien. Ze speelden Catémbe, Jean-Pierre en in ieder geval Tutu.

Gelukkig zijn er altijd wel mensen te vinden die een langer stukje filmen, in dit geval Tutu.

Gênante anekdote, ik werkte toen ik jong was op NSJ, als zalenzetter en vuilophaler. Je kon overal bij zijn, het was een leuke baan. Ik heb toen Miles gezien, in '89. Een sterke herinnering heb ik er niet aan, maar ik weet wel dat het publiek erg enthousiast was. Ik vond er niet veel aan, kon duidelijk het moment nog niet helemaal op waarde schatten. Klein excuus, ik was nooit enthousiast over de Statenhal. De kleine zaaltjes vond ik veel leuker. Maar toch...
