Bij een ongeluk bij een bedrijf in Schiedam is iemand om het leven gekomen. De man kwam klem te zitten tussen de pallets bij het laden en lossen in een vrachtwagen bij het bedrijf aan de Nieuwe Waterwegstraat. Hij was de chauffeur van de vrachtwagen.

Feyenoord heeft het uitshirt voor het komende seizoen 2026/27 gepresenteerd. De club gaat spelen in een lichtblauw tenue met het clublogo in het midden van de borst. Eenzelfde shirt werd ook gebruikt in het seizoen dat de UEFA Cup werd gewonnen.

When Norma Winstone, the peerless English vocalist and lyricist, reached 80 in 2021 – still in entrancing voice – a cascade of tributes included one from ECM Records boss Manfred Eicher, legendary master of doing more with less in new music: “She hears things differently, and tells us about them in her own quiet way.” Winstone’s confiding storytelling could have struggled in a noisy world, but landmark albums, the accolades of peers and fans and an MBE have confirmed its soft power across 60 years. So does the release of A Timeless Place, a long-archived 1990 radio broadcast with Winstone fronting Hanover’s NDR Radio Orchestra.

The title track is her much-covered lyric (Mark Murphy, Jazzmeia Horn and Cécile McLorin Salvant have explored it) to pianist Jimmy Rowles’ lovely tune The Peacocks. Glimpsed happiness, missed chances and the sounds and colours of emotions (“I’m drowning now, slowly sinking in a sea of blue and green”) typify Winstone’s materials, and her lustrous low sounds and vaulting octave leaps constantly mutate the implications of words.

Elk jaar stikken er minstens 1000 schildpadden in plastic dat wordt gedumpt in de oceaan. Slecht nieuws voor velen, maar niet voor schildpad Berry met een wurgfetisj: die kan er juist intens van genieten. In gesprek met ons vertelt het ondeugende reptiel uitgebreid over de misvattingen die er heersen over de seksuele moraal van de schildpad-community.

“Wij schildpadden zijn op seksueel vlak heel open-minded diertjes. Als je weet op welk plekje in de oceaan je moet zijn, dan verdrink je haast in alle diepzee-orgies en turtle-trio’s. Mijn favoriete spot is vlakbij de Galapagoseilanden – ik noem het ook wel gekscherend de Geilapagoseilanden. De vibe daar voelt heel vertrouwd, dus ik kan me er met een gerust hart overgeven aan een dampend potje wurgseks.”

“Mijn interesse in breath play heeft een vlucht genomen toen Fifty Shades of Greyin de bioscoop draaide. Ik had al mijn vermoedens, maar toen wist ik zeker dat ik meer een sub-schildpad ben dan een dom-schildpad. De eerste keer was heel spannend, maar ik werd goed bij de flipper genomen en ben heel prettig begeleid. De key bij choking is dat je vooraf duidelijke afspraken maakt. Zo weet mijn partner altijd dat mijn stopwoord ‘aquarium’ is.”

“Voor mijn gevoel is er op seksueel vlak nog zeeën van ruimte om te onderzoeken. Zo zou ik graag nog een keer een rollenspel doen waarin ik de rol aanneem van een kogelvis en mijn sekspartner de rol van een dolfijn. Ook lijkt het me heel opwindend om te kijken naar hoe twee andere schildpadden elkaar uitwonen en ik ernaast zit op een cuckrots.”
