PARIJS (ANP/RTR) - De extreme zomerhitte in Frankrijk remt de druivengroei in belangrijke wijnregio's zoals Champagne, Bordeaux en Bourgogne. Wijnproducenten waarschuwen dinsdag voor een kleinere oogst en een van de vroegste oogsten ooit.

Een recordhittegolf eind juni, gevolgd door opnieuw warm en droog weer sinds vorige week, heeft de groei van druiven vertraagd en jonge wijnstokken beschadigd. "We zien de opbrengst letterlijk verdampen door de hitte", zei Laurent Delaunay, voorzitter van de Bourgondische wijnbrancheorganisatie BIVB. Volgens hem maken wijnboeren zich vooral zorgen over het gebrek aan water.

Weerdeskundigen verwachten voor 14 juli weinig tot geen regen in de belangrijkste Franse wijnregio's. Daarmee houdt de droge periode in veel gebieden al meer dan drie weken aan.

De opbrengst van druiven valt dit jaar naar verwachting ongeveer 10 procent lager uit dan vorig jaar. De totale wijnproductie hoeft echter niet in dezelfde mate te dalen, omdat producenten gebruik kunnen maken van opgebouwde voorraden.

A common problem I'm beginning to have on these shots is the image border randomly having matte on any image border regardless of layer and after 8 tried fixes, I have no idea how to stop it. It's been happening the past 6 uploads and up to this point my fix has been using the clone tool, but even that just doesn't look natural. So basically, ignore the line at the top of the image.
I think I may have tried to bring the darkness out of the this one a little too hard. I was hoping it would make the sakura and closer lantern stand out. You really cannot go wrong with Omoide and it really makes me anxious to get to more yokochos when I return later this year. There's really no wrong way to shoot this (that I've seen thus far).
I also left the people alone in editing, figured keeping it populated would help it look more urban, and as much as I hate leaving people in shots, you guys don't seem to mind it so I guess it's fine.
I think I've reached the point where I'm nearly all out of stories to tell about Japan. The whole point was to shoot as many things as possible and think later, and I have milked this trip to high heaven and back. This was by design, but I don't normally have anything new to declare. I'll definitely have more stories to tell when I'm back in Tokyo.
