Result of court case against Associated Newspapers Limited expected this afternoon
Prince Harry will find out the result of a court case he and others brought against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publishers of the Daily Mail, a British tabloid newspaper, at about 2pm BST (9am EDT).
The long-running case centres on claims of unlawful information-gathering.

Continue reading...BRUSSEL (ANP) - Brussel geeft toe dat het nieuwe grenscontrolesysteem EES nog niet overal goed werkt. Vooral op drukke vliegvelden lopen de wachtrijen op bepaalde uren door het Entry/Exit System (EES) behoorlijk op. Bij twintig grensovergangen zijn er serieuze problemen, zeggen betrokken EU-ambtenaren. De Europese Commissie wil niet zeggen om welke het gaat.
Volgens Ryanair kampten luchthavens in Spanje, Italië, Polen en Parijs al voor de start van de zomervakanties met oponthoud door het systeem. Niet-EU-burgers moeten bij aankomst hun biometrische gegevens laten vastleggen voordat ze het aankomstland binnen mogen. Ook op Schiphol en de Belgische luchthaven Zaventem zijn problemen gemeld.
Als er in de zomermaanden lange rijen ontstaan, mogen EU-lidstaten de biometrische registratie opschorten. Nederland wil dat deze maatregel ook tot na september blijft bestaan.
De Europese Commissie wil van de lidstaten weten tegen welke problemen ze aanlopen bij het gebruik van EES.
